Terms and Conditions

Last updated: January 1, 2025

General

By booking a repair service with Escarpment Appliance Repair, you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. These terms apply to all repair services provided by Escarpment Appliance Repair in Cambridge, Halton Hills, and Milton.

Diagnosis and Repair

We will diagnose and repair your appliance in accordance with these terms, provided the appliance is located within a permanent residential foundation, properly installed, safely accessible to our technician, and in a safe and sanitary environment. We aim to diagnose and repair on the first visit; however, this is not always possible. We are not liable for losses or damages resulting from misdiagnosis or delays in completing a repair.

Service Fee and Pricing

A $0 service fee applies when you proceed with the repair. If you choose not to proceed after the diagnostic, a diagnostic fee may apply. All pricing is communicated and approved by the customer before any repair work begins. Applicable taxes will be added to all invoices.

Warranty

A 90-day warranty on parts and labour is provided upon completion of a repair. Please refer to our Warranty Policy for full terms, exclusions and guidelines.

Exclusions

Our service does not cover equipment used for commercial purposes, damage caused by misuse, abuse, tampering, unauthorized repairs, accidental or deliberate damage, fire, flood, or acts of nature. Pre-existing defects present before the service date are also excluded. We do not cover clogs of any kind, including drain lines, filters, or pump blockages.

Unavailable Parts

We make every effort to source replacement parts as quickly as possible. If a required part is no longer available or cannot be obtained at a commercially reasonable cost, we will not be liable for replacing the appliance. We will inform you promptly if this situation arises.

Technician Access and Safety

Our technicians reserve the right to refuse service if the appliance is not safely or readily accessible, or if the environment is deemed unsafe or unsanitary. This includes appliances located in crawl spaces, attics, or areas with unsafe conditions. No service will be completed in the presence of unsafe animals or hazardous conditions.

Liability

Escarpment Appliance Repair's liability is limited to correcting the problem for which service was rendered. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic damages, or for loss or damage to any person or property arising from the use or inability to use the repaired equipment.

Personal Information

We collect personal information solely to establish and manage our service relationship with you. Your information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required to deliver the service or as required by law. For questions about how your data is handled, please contact us directly.

Cancellation

You may cancel a booked appointment at any time before the technician's arrival. Please refer to our Cancellation Policy for details on fees that may apply.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
